Jason Callum began boxing in 1991 at the age of 13 with Coventry Boys Club, under the guidance of coach Dennis Young. Over the years, he gained experience across multiple weight divisions, starting at middleweight before moving through light heavyweight, heavyweight, and eventually super heavyweight. 

As an amateur, Jason enjoyed great success: 

  •  Won an NABC title at light heavyweight at just 17 years old 🏆
  • ABA Novice Champion (under 10 bouts) at heavyweight
  • ABA Champion (under 20 bouts) at super heavyweight
  • Reached the Senior ABA super heavyweight final in 2000
  • Competed in the Senior ABA semifinal in 2001
  • Represented England against Ireland and Germany
  • Amassed 80 amateur fights, with 65 wins.
  • Reached a national ranking of No. 4 in the super heavyweight division
  • Winner of the Last Man Standing competition in 2004

After his competitive career, Jason moved into coaching, where he quickly developed a reputation for his knowledge and approachable style. He enjoyed successful stints at Seymour’s Boxing Club and Bell Green ABC before being appointed as Head Coach at Royal Leamington Spa ABC. Today, Jason brings his wealth of experience to the gym. His coaching philosophy is simple: keep things straightforward, focus on fundamentals, and build strong, well-rounded fighters. He believes in hard work, discipline, and making boxing accessible to all, whether you’re stepping into the ring for the first time or aiming to compete at the highest level.
